Windows 10: Windows 11 Opening Same App Twice at Startup

Windows 11 has started to open two Notepad apps at startup which it didn’t do before.I have a shortcut for a Notepad file in my user startup folder which has “.LOG” at the beginning of the file to add date stamp when the file is opened.One of the opened Notepad file has the new date stamp and the other does not.The Notepad file that does not have the date stamp also opens a window that states "C:\Users\wmcre\OneDrive\Desktop\LegionLog.txt has been modified on disk. Do you want to restore its previous changes in Notepad or reload the new version"How do I stop the Notepad which does not add the

Windows Explorer opening twice on startup

I have a similar problem of the same app opening twice at startup.

When windows 11 Pro starts, it open two Notepad apps which it didn’t do before.

I have a shortcut for a Notepad file in my user startup folder which has “.LOG” at the beginning of the file to date stamp when the file is opened.

One of the opened Notepad file has the new date stamp and the other does not.

How do I stop the Notepad which does not add the date stamp from starting.

 

Can't get GPU-Z to start with Windows 8.1 startup

You could add entries to the registry to launch the apps on startup, but it's easier to just add them to the startup foler as Newt suggested.
