Windows 10: Windows 11 - Paint unable to save layers

I just reported on the Windows 11 Feedback Hub that Paint is unable to save layers or being able to open them after quitting paint and re-opening any image file type, including .png images. This is a problem for me because I need to use the layers features so Paint does not benefit me on doing the job that I expect it to do. This problem has to be addressed as soon as possible.

Thank you Patch for your reply.
I've spent a lot of time getting familiar with the Windows 11 version of Paint but I'm at a loss when it comes to Layers.
I'm not alone with this and can't for the life of me think why Paint intruduced Layers.
Paint Shop Pro has them but I can convert those to animations.

Hello.
I would like to know what to do with the Layers I've created on Win 11 Paint?

After many attempts I have managed to enter pictures into several layers but now don't know what to do with them.
I've tried the instructions I found to merge them down and save them but all I get when opened is the last picture.

Cannot edit images when saved in Fresh paint

Hi Kamila,

As per the information, I understand that when you save an image drawn in Fresh Paint, you are unable to edit the image once saved.

If the above is true, I suggest that you follow the steps below to save the image in a manner that will allow you to edit it.

• To save your painting right click on fresh paint and click on
  Save as. You will get an option to select the location.
• Select the location and save the painting.
• When you reopen fresh paint you will be on the painting you used before closing fresh paint. If you do not get the painting, you may click on image and go to the location and select the image to edit.
