    I have a new PC with Windows 11 as follows:Edition Windows 11 Home Version 22H2 Installed on ‎12/‎9/‎2022 OS build 22621.963 Serial number PF3Z0S8Q Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22638.1000.0 I use a backup program called GoodSync, which works fine on my Windows 10 machines. However, on the new Windows 11 machine, it will not wake up from Sleep to run a scheduled backup job. If the computer is not in Sleep, the backup job runs as expected, but if it is in Sleep, it will not. The User Manual for Good Sync states that it should wake up from sleep if the following setting is

    How to keep computer awake after waking from a scheduled job.

    I put my Windows 10 PC to sleep each night before going to bed and need it to automatically wake up at 8:00 AM each morning and
    stay awake until I put it to sleep at night. I have a scheduled job that dutifully wakes the PC every morning, but the problem is that it puts itself back to sleep within a few minutes. If I move the mouse during the few minutes it's awake
    it stays awake all day with no problem. If I wake the computer with the keyboard it stays awake all day.

    This process worked fine in Windows 7. Any suggestions?

    Task scheduler wakes from sleep/hibernation but PC then goes back to sleep/hibernation

    Hi,

    I have a HP EliteBook 840 G1 with Windows 10.

    I am looking to put my laptop to sleep/hibernation each night at a set time. Then the scheduler will wake the PC at a set time and run a .bat file.

    The Windows scheduler wakes the PC fine but after a few minutes it goes back to sleep/hibernation. I would appreciate any suggestions to prevent this.

    The laptop is connected to power the whole time and I have disabled auto sleep.

    Win 10 Backups & Sleep Mode

    Hi Ruth,

    I should clarify the reason the backup was cancelled.

    The actual message was... "Backup was cancelled by User", and I am quite sure that it was because the PC entered Sleep Mode.

    The Win 10 backup is being stored on an external 2Tb USB drive.

    So to put my questions again...

    • If I schedule a weekly backup, and the PC is in Sleep mode at the appointed time, will the PC wake up to allow the backup to run?
    • Can Sleep Mode be prevented whilst a Backup is running?
