Windows 10: Windows 11 PC has stopped detecting 2nd display

Windows 11 PC - was connected to and using 2 monitors. One via HDMI directly into PC only has one HDMI port, the other 2nd via a USB C multi adapter HDMIHad to disconnect 2nd monitor temporarily. When reconnected PC is unable to detect it.Have checked all cable connections, replaced adapter which is detected by PC and USB etc on it all working, multiple reboots, driver updates, Windows updates, BIOS update - anything and everything suggested anywhere I can find it - no joy.Either monitor works direct from PC HDMI, both HDMI cables work - the whole system used to work.Help, please!?

Windows 10 stopped detecting 2nd monitor

I've restarted the computer (several times), and it's not showing any signs of detecting the 2nd monitor.

Ever since it stopped working, there's only '1' Display option; clicking 'Detect' in Multiple displays results in the message
"Didn't detect another display"; the Device Manager only lists one monitor (screenshot below); and it has stopped allowing me to select other projection modes unless I connect to the 2nd monitor wirelessly.

I'm using an HDMI cable for the 2nd monitor, and have tried both HDMI ports on the monitor unsuccessfully. The monitor models are Dell E2414H and LG 24J4840.

Windows 10 upgrade to 1709 does not detect my other display.

Is there a fix? And is it possible to stop the force feeding of the 1709 build?

Windows 10 upgrade to 1709 does not detect my other display. I have tried every suggestion listed here to no avail. Including installing KB4057291. Going back to the prior build again. NVidia graphics card not listed as display adaptor because it will not
recognize my 2nd display. Yet once i go back my 2nd display and screen settings come back

 

Windows 11 Upgrade from Windows 11 Preview Causes Inability to Detect 2nd Monitor

Hello,

Upon upgrading my Acer Inspire PC from Windows 11 Preview to Windows 11 today, I can only use one monitor. Steps I've taken:

1. Swapped "monitor to pc" cables and verified both are functioning normally.
   
2. SYSTEM | DISPLAY | Scale & Layout | Detect Multiple displays > results in "We didn't detect another display"
   
3. Device Manager | Display Adapters | Lists "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter", however, the PC's invoice says "Intel UHD Graphics 630"
   
   • Intel's Driver & Assistant App shows all drivers are up to date, but it too shows the "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter"
     
   • Downloaded "Intel(R) Graphics Driver: 30.0.100.9928" software from Intel - it failed to run, saying "no driver, CODE 8"
     
4. Device Manager | Display Adapters | Microsoft Basic Display Adapter | Tried both "Update Driver" options > no change.
   
5. Device Manager | Display Adapters | Microsoft Basic Display Adapter | Uninstall Device, then restarted > no change.
   
6. Verified no updates were needed.
   
7. Powered off and back on.
   

Any ideas?
