  1. Windows 11 Photo Viewer Issue - Maximizing Images

Hello everyone.I recently updated Windows 11 to its latest version, but now I find a problem that wasn't there before. When I open one image using the Windows Photo Viewer, there are no problems. But when I have one open and minimize it, and then I open a different image, the previous one would maximize into the screen AND the new image would open up in a smaller window instead of full screen this wasn't a problem before.I doubt this is a feature, and most likely a bug. Have any of you experienced this, and found a way to solve it?Thanks in advance.

    :)

    photo viewer

    Hi,

There are several reasons why this issue occurs, such as corrupted system file or your graphic driver needs to be updated. To isolate your issues about viewing photos in
Windows Photo Viewer, we just have a few questions:

    • Is the issue the same with a different image file format?
    • Have you tried using the Photo app to check if the issue is the same?
    • Is the issue only occurs with the photos that were captured using your DSLR camera?
    • Have you tried downloading photos online and check if the issue is the same?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In the meantime, to troubleshoot your issue in using the Windows Photo Viewer, we suggest that you run the Windows apps troubleshooter. To do so, click on this
link. If the issue still persists, we recommend that you update your graphic driver. To do this, we suggest that you follow the steps provided on this
    link.

Please post back with the result for further assistance.

  4. Windows 11 Photo Viewer Issue - Maximizing Images

the default app for opening images is not photo viewer

    Hi Navya_7,

Windows 10/11 comes with the built-in "Photos" app with which you can view or edit images. To associate your image files with the Photos app, right-click on an image file and click Properties. Click on the Change button. In the Open with dialog that appears, select "Photos" from the list.

Whereas, if you want the classic "Windows Photo Viewer" as the default, you need to apply this registry fix to enable the hidden Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 11.
