Windows 10: Windows 11 photo viewer wont open

In short - new computer with windows 11 installed.Photo viewer app is installed - but wont open either via itself or when trying to open the image directly. Cant see any updates to try and fix the issue - any ideas??Thanks

How to get rid of raw file support in windows photo viewer?




I have downloaded this, and it did not work; photo viewer is not in the list of programs in Open With or Default App. I used option 2 step 3, followed by step 5 to 9.

• Do you have Windows Photo Viewer files on your PC?
• Did you check if Windows Photo Viewer is present as a Default application to view photos on your PC?

I suggest you to check if Windows Photo Viewer option is present as a default application to view photos by following steps below:

• Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type Default programs and select the top most search result.
• Click on the default set photo viewer application under Photo viewer and check if
  Windows Photo Viewer is present under Choose an app window.
• If yes, click on Windows Photo Viewer, close the window and check if the changes are effective.

Photo Viewer not opening my photos

Hi,

I recently installed windows 10 but for some reason my photos wont open in any photo viewer. It can open in Windows Photo Viewer but i would like it to open in the new viewer for windows 10 (Photos).
