Windows 10: Windows 11 - PIN on the ADMIN account locked after recent Win 11 Update

Good evening!This issue has started 1 month ago after a Windows Update. This is my admin account and I had Windows Hello and PIN set up there as sign in options. Now I understand I should have also used the password. But since that's the admin account and it's locked now I can't do much to fix it.Unfortunately, none of the common fixes work because I just can't access this admin account.For example I can't reach this folder C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC without the admin access.And going to Settings to change the PIN is not possible without the a

Windows 11 - Windows hello PIN and Camera face recognition do not work

Hi,

Windows 11 - Windows hello PIN and Camera face recognition do not work, for both of them, when reaching the final step, the window closes before saying completed, and nothing happens

Steps to replicate on my PC - WIN 11:

1. Situation 1 - Trying to change PIN:
   
   1. Settings - Accounts - Pin(Windows Hello)
      
   2. Although i'm currently using a PIN to log into my user, I only get 1 button: Setup
      
   3. Press Setup - Create a PIN - Next
      
   4. Making sure it's you - I add my PIN - Just a moment - the window closes, nothign happens
      
2. Situation 2 - Trying to add Face recognition:
   
   1. Settings - Accounts - Facial recognition (Windows Hello) - Setup
      
   2. Welcome to Windows hello - Get started
      
   3. My face is scanned, i get a blue loading square, and dots on my things
      
   4. A couple more things
      
   5. Improbve recognition - if i skip this steps it does not make a difference
      
   6. A couple more things - Set up PIN
      
   7. Microsoft Account - Create a PIN - Next
      
   8. Making sure it's you - I add my PIN - Just a moment - the window closes, nothign happens
      

I initially thought my webcam was the issue, but then chaging the PIN does not work either, and it has nothing to do with the camera

I talked with someone from support (support request number is 1056162110), and we tried different things until 3:30 AM my time, about 1:30 h.

On my laptop (win 10) with the same account, face recognition and PIN works, I have not tried to change them.

Is there any way to reset PIN on an account level? Or repair windows?

What else should i try?

 

Windows 11 needs PIN - lost PIN & Password - Help!

To reset a forgotten PIN code, please complete these steps: (Require your phone number.)

Step 1: On the Windows 11 login screen, click “I forgot my PIN” under the PIN password box.

Step 2: Enter your user account password and then click “Sign in”.

Step 3: you need to verify your identity, choose a way to receive code and continue.

Step 4: If you choose your phone number, enter the last 4 digits of the phone number. Then click “Send code”.

Step 5: You will receive a code in seconds. Type in your received code and then click “Verify”.

Step 6: Select “Continue”.

Step 7: Type in a new PIN and type it again to confirm. Then click “OK”. The new PIN password is working now.

Windows 11 - Files not appearing as recent on apps pinned to the taskbar

Hi All,

I'm newly running Windows 11.

When I right-click on a pinned app (word, excel etc), I cannot see the list of recent files in order to pin them.

I have toggled the on-off option in Settings>Personalisation>Start>"Show recently opened items in Start, Jump List and Files Explorer" and rebooted the computer.

After undertaking that fix, I managed to open one excel spreadsheet and was able to right click the app on the taskbar and see the file listed there in recent documents and pinned it.

However, when I attempted to do this for a second spreadsheet, after right-clicking on the app icon, I was unable to see any other recent documents, and only could see the newly pinned file.

Any help? I don't want to be needing to reboot the computer every time I wish to pin another file... is this a glitch?
