Windows 10: Windows 11, “Power & Sleep” section inside the settings app crashes every time I access it.

Hello,I recently got a new laptop “MSI GF63 Thin 11UC” and I used to be able to access the Power & Sleep settings through the settings app, but all of sudden whenever I try to access it, the settings app just closes itself.I can access the Power Options through control panel but that’s not the same section I am trying to edit.I saw someone say check the “Minidump” folder but I don’t actually have that folder on my system. I would appreciate any help

Windows 11, some applications seem to crash after laptop goes to sleep

Hello,

Currently whenever I close my laptop lid for prolonged periods (so the laptop goes to sleep) there seems to be some apps that seem to crash. They disappear completely from my desktop, or have to be forced to stop in task manager in order to restart them.

These apps are namely:

• Spotify
  
• Trello
  
• Whatsapp for PC
  
• WSL
  
• EarTrumpet
  

Wifi also seems to stop working after my laptop goes to sleep. I have to turn it off and on again to for it to work.

Steps taken to try fix issue:

• Restored to default power settings
  
• Ran power options troubleshooter
  

I am currently on the windows 11 insider program, in the Beta branch, and I am on the latest build at the moment

Any advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

 

Settings crashing when trying to open 'power and sleep' settings

Hello.

My settings app crashes every time I open the 'power and sleep' settings in windows 11. When I try to open it, it freezes for a second and shows a blue screen before automatically closing and exiting the app. I had run some modification programs, but after the issue started I removed the settings they changed and it still would crash. Is there any way I can fix it without a reset?

 

Windows 11 Power > Sleep settings not working - PC will not go into sleep mode after set times

I intermittently have this problem on my Windows 11 Thinkpad (Screen won't even lock as scheduled)

• Explicitly putting the system to sleep --> wakes up instantly (but with screen locked)
  

What works (most of the time, but not always).

• Explicitly HIBERNATE my laptop (you have to enable hibernate to show up on the power menu, through the control panel app)
  
• Wake up my laptop (power button)
  
• Test if system will sleep (power menu again).
  

I think this is likely a software BUG on the Microsoft side. While it may be third party software, I doubt it. This never was a problem on Win10 on the same hardware.
