Windows 10: windows 11 print screen key inexplicably stopped working.

tried restarting. updates are up-to-date. keyboard settings are ok. fiddled with the Fn key. even tried a different keyboard. i tried other suggestions on older questions and nothing works. yes, i know i can use windows-shift-s but using the one print screen key is easier, as I use it frequently. this is an unexplainable annoyance with no fix.

Inexplicable restarts

Thanks for your patient help and analysis, zbook. I'll step through some of your suggestions over the next few days - there's a lot to do and some look a bit hairy! That is, for a PC that is working sweetly right now...

One step I did try right away was to answer your question about whether my BIOS is up-to-date. I had no success at the AMI site but did get some info from this commercial site:

Printing stopped with November upgrade

Hey Prestonpdx,

I would suggest you check if the print spooler is running. Start/Stop print spooler service. Follow the steps below.

• 
  Press Windows key + R, type services.msc
  and press Enter.
  
• 
  From the list, locate Print Spooler service.
  
• 
  Double click on the service and select Stop.
  
• 
  Restart the computer, repeat step 1&2.
  
• 
  Double click on the service and check if the service is started.

Print Screen Key Stopped Working

For very many years pressing the print screen key only would send a screenshot directly to the screenshot folder in the pictures file. Then it stopped working three weeks ago. Then win + print screen also stopped working about a week ago.
