I have a GPO setup and has been working flawlessly for Windows 10 Pro. We are now starting to rollout Windows 11 Pro but having trouble getting Bitlocker to encrypt. I've updated the SYSVOL with the latest admx files, I have verified the GPO is being applied with gpresults, but when I try to enable bitlocker it starts through the wizard, it verifies PC requirements, creates a recovery dirve, and when it asks me to backup my recovery key AD is not an option. I was shocked it wasn't automatically encrypting to begin with. Our Windows 10 PC start encryption with the same GPO and store key to AD a

GPO to backup BitLocker key to AD in Windows 11

    Hey all,

I'm starting a Windows 11 pilot in my enterprise. I've just started and have 5 or 6 Windows 11 machines out there. One of the things we have in place for Windows 10 is the GPO that enables BitLocker, requiring it to back up to AD before encryption. This works great on the Windows 10 machines. We've also tested the key that was created/saved when the device was Windows 10 then upgraded to 11 later. This all works as advertised.

However, the few computers that are imaged Windows 11 are not acting quite the same. Those computers are receiving and applying the same GPO as the Windows 10, except the Key isn't saving to AD. The encryption completes despite the failure to save the key.

Does anyone have an idea why the Windows 11 machines falsely believe the key is backed up to AD?

Windows 8.1 PRO unable to unlock Bitlocked drive

Can you take a screen shot of the bitlocker window?

Also, what happens when you highlight the drive in This PC and go to the Manage tab? There should be some bitlocker options there.

BitLocker Save to USB Flash missing?

    Hi,

I followed the step by step guide on what Brink wrote up below.
    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3...-a.html?filter[1]=Security System Tools

However, when turning ON BitLocker to encrypt the OS drive only, and ask me to where to save the recovery key, I get only the Save to File and not the Save to USB Flash. Has MS taken out the Save to USB selection since WIn 10 version 1511?

I followed all the steps and left BitLocker to its default setting (except for encryption method).

I was able to save the recovery key to a file which was my USB flash drive.
