    Windows 11 Pro Ends Session Unexpectedly


    This is related to the issue of Win11 Pro dropping RDP connections. Some answers say to change the registry setting, others day change some GPO settings - we have tried both with no consistent fix. We have checked power settings, no issue with that. It's a chronic problem that affects our ability to get work done.Side note - my experience with Microsoft goes back to the pre-windows, DOS days. I have grown up with it. I have been a fan. Not a big fan these days.Why can't someone at Microsoft provide a definitive answer and information as to when this BUG will be fixed?

    After some sessions, Windows 10 Pro RDC displays a black screen

    We are using 2 Windows 10 Pro computers, and an issue arises after using several Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) sessions.

    Specifically, during some RDP sessions, the screen turns black, and after a few seconds, the RDP connection gets disconnected.

    When I check the Event Viewer, I find an error message stating, "The Windows logon process has unexpectedly terminated" with Event ID 4005.

    After a few RDP sessions, the problem occurred. The RDP settings have been enabled, and the RDP services function correctly on the Windows 10 Pro computer.

    I tried Windows Resource Protection, but it found no corrupted files.

    After restarting the PC, the problem is resolved, but the same problem occurs again after a while.

    Please let me know if any specific troubleshooting steps exist to resolve the issue.

    Windows 11 Pro Upgrade from Windows 10 Pro Edition

    No but after it installed the malfunctioning Windows 11 upgrade it was listed as Windows 11 Pro. Microsoft Windows support advised I reinstall Windows 10 Pro and said that Windows 11 is really only meant for new PC's that come with it preinstalled. MSI website doesn't list my 2020 GT76 Titan dt-039 notebook on their Windows 11 upgrade eligibility list so I guess that's why the Windows 11 Pro upgrade failed. I suggest being careful with trying the Windows 11 upgrade despite it stating my notebook was capable of running Windows 11 it was wrong. Luckily I have the original Windows 10 Pro USB Flash drive because the Windows 11 Pro upgrade was so incomplete I had no way of reverting notebook back to Windows 10 without reinstalling from a USB Flash.

    Windows 11 Update Failing

    I have done all of the steps listed here and the KB5023706 still fails. I only recently ended up doing a complete repair (to get out of the Insider program that I entered by mistake). I have Windows 11 Pro installed - so if I download the ISO file will it recognize that this is windows 11 pro?
