I Have Windows 11 Pro on my small business laptop computer. And I use my computer to communicate weekly with different LAN networks all across the country. In the past, I would arrive at a site, set a static IP in my computer to connect to the equipment in a facility, and begin various updates and configurations over the network as part of my job. But recently, I've been experiencing HUGE ISSUES with the Network and sharing Center not applying my Static network settings properly into my computer. After trying to connect to a network and failing, Checking my configuration in the command pr

  3. Help needed with simple wired network

Step one- Connect all PC's to router, and then the router to the modem. PC's go to router by the ports labeled "1-4" on the back of the router. WAN port goes to router. Power up all network equipment, and then systems.
Step two- Power on the computer connected to port one. Go into router settings at 192.168.0.1 and configure internet, dyndns, firewall, etc.
Step three- Go to "network set up wizard" in windows. (Network places- network set up wizard). The rest is self explanatory.
Step four- right click on each drive and printer you want to share, and then configure sharing preferences. Should be easy enough.
Step five- right click my computer, and the select "map network drive". Using the network address for each piece of hardware you shared, assign network drive letters.

Congratulations, you have a fully operational network. Happy Gaming! *Toast :toast:

  4. Windows 11 Pro issue with Network and sharing center and Network Settings App conflicting...

    Vista network conflict.

Everyone knows how great Vista is @ discovering devices and networks, but now I have a problem.

On startup, it finds two networks, one is my working "Network" network, and the other is some sort of "Unidentified network".

This is causing a conflict, and I cannot connect to the internet, I can however connect to my IP address, and I do have a signal.

I have tried to go to the network and sharing center, but when I delete that "Unidentified network", both networks disappear. If I do a system restore, internet will work, but as soon as I shutdown/restart, and boot up again, Vista will rediscover that "Unidentified network".

Safe mode w/ networking allows me to go to the internet, as it does not discover that pesky "Unidentified network".

Can anyone assist me in manually deleating this network, and prevent it from coming back?

    Thanks
