Windows 10: Windows 11 Pro Microsoft Account update policy

Hello, In February of this year, Microsoft announced in the release notes of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22557 that whoever wants to install Windows 11 Pro, later this year, must have an active Internet connection and a Microsoft Account for it similar to the Windows 11 Home installation policy. I have two questions about this:1. What is the current status of this? I haven't seen any news since the initial announcement in February. In other words, is there any news on when this change will go into effect? 2. What is the result of this change when upgrading Windows 10 machines to Win

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown

 

Can't sign in with a microsoft account

Thanks for the additional information, Crimson. It seems that the problem is with your device. To help isolate this problem, I would like to ask for the
build, version and edition of your computer. Just navigate to
Settings > System > About to get these information.

By the way, have you tried logging in to your computer using a different Microsoft account? If yes, did it go through? If not, were there any error messages?

If you've skipped any updates recently, then I would suggest that you install those updates and see if the issue persists. To check for recent updates, navigate to
Settings > Update & Security > Check for updates.

If you're on Windows 10 Pro, please look into your group policy and see if your Microsoft account is blocked. Follow these steps:

1. Go to Search, type group policy, and click Edit group policies.
2. Navigate to this path: Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\Accounts: Block Microsoft Accounts
3. Look for Accounts: Block Microsoft accounts, right-click on it, and click
   Properties.
4. From the dropdown menu select This policy is disabled, click
   Apply, then OK.
5. Now, try logging into your Microsoft account.
