Windows 10: Windows 11 Pro - Need Absolute Control over Restarts after Updates

Please read the nuances of this post carefully! Generic answers will not help me or others.Situation: Windows 11 Pro all updates as of 2/15/2023 restarts after updates around 3am local time. On past OS's, I've been able to use Windows Updates or Group Policy or Registry Editor to permanently prevent Windows from automatically restarting. It appears Microsoft has disabled every avenue to give me full control.In some cases, such as on tightly controlled systems that operate electrical, mechanical, testing, and other safety systems, I'm all for updates, but only when I say so. Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

KB3106246 with absolutely no information intended to be the big fall update?

Step 1: I suggest you to Run Memory Diagnostic Tool
and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Press Windows
  key and type Memory Diagnostic.
  
• 
  Select Windows Memory Diagnostics
  and click on Restart now and check for problems.
  
• 
  Follow the on-screen instructions.
  

Step 2: I suggest you to install all the pending updates after upgrade to Windows 10.

  Connect to the internet.
  
• 
  Press Windows
  key and type updates.
  
• 
  Click on Check for updates.
  
• 
  Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
  
• 
  Try to install the updates being shown.

Windows 11 Pro Upgrade from Windows 10 Pro Edition

No but after it installed the malfunctioning Windows 11 upgrade it was listed as Windows 11 Pro. Microsoft Windows support advised I reinstall Windows 10 Pro and said that Windows 11 is really only meant for new PC's that come with it preinstalled. MSI website doesn't list my 2020 GT76 Titan dt-039 notebook on their Windows 11 upgrade eligibility list so I guess that's why the Windows 11 Pro upgrade failed. I suggest being careful with trying the Windows 11 upgrade despite it stating my notebook was capable of running Windows 11 it was wrong. Luckily I have the original Windows 10 Pro USB Flash drive because the Windows 11 Pro upgrade was so incomplete I had no way of reverting notebook back to Windows 10 without reinstalling from a USB Flash.
