  2. Windows11 Pro OEM wont be re-activated

Our organization bought 6 identical laptops including WIN10 Pro OEM. Win10 licences were activated by the selling company.

All laptops had to run same client-software, so I built 1 device and duplicated SSD (outside of the laptop) and plugged back in the SSD. All windows-clients are still perfectly registered

We then bought 6 new devices (identical to each other, different from batch 1, equipped with Windows 11 Pro OEM; not sure if the licenses were activated by the selling company.
These clients required the same build, so the vendor copied the Win10-build to these devices and arranged for correct drivers.
We have now established that our software will run on Win11, so want o perform the upgrade to Win11, and have started doing so on the second batch (the ones that came with win11 Pro licences).

The system will not allow us to activate these Windows 11 licences !!!

Windows 11 pro OEM re-activation SSD change

Activate Windows 10 Pro OEM with retiring Windows 10 Pro Retail product key

My PC is running a valid install of Windows 10 Pro retail but the system HDD is failing.

I have acquired a SSD with Windows 10 Pro OEM installed. I would like to retire the HDD containing the retail licence and substitute it with the SSD containing the OEM licence. I do not wish to reinstall the retail version on the SSD as that would delete all the apps thereon.

Can I activate the OEM version with the (retired) retail version's product key? The oem version was not originally installed on this pc and hence the motherboard is not the same as per the original oem install.

It does not matter that in substituting the SSD for the HDD I lose all the apps installed on the HDD.

The pc is not eligible for the Win 11 upgrade.
