Windows 10: Windows 11 Pro turning screen off though set to never do so

I've been through the forums and found people with similar problems, but none of the solutions work for me. I have a new computer, a Dell Latitude 5520, running Windows 11 Pro. The screen insists on dimming after one minute and then turning off, requiring me to enter my password over and over again. Sometimes it doesn't even respond to my using the mouse pad or typing. I've set it to never turn off the screen and to never go to sleep, but this has had exactly no effect.Weirdly, when I deliberately put the computer to sleep, it turns back on by itself if I move, like it's detecting motion s

Hi, thank you. I could restart my surface pro 4 but still could not fix the Surface Pro 4 screen not turn on after sleep. I am still looking forward to hearing more suggestions to fix the black screen after sleep.
