Windows 10: Windows 11 Pro updated itself to Enterprise and lost license

As the title says. On my work laptop I was using Windows 11 Pro. After an update it upgraded itself to Windows 11 Enterprise and it said that I need to activate Windows. I tried switching back to Windows 11 Pro, as suggested by a Microsoft employee, by doing a clean install, but instead I just lost all of my data. Windows is still not activated.So instead of trying to come up with a solution that we all know won't work, I'd appreciate it if you didn't waste my time. Just give me a working key for Windows 11 Pro. I've already lost all the data from my work lap top for no reason, and quite frank

Windows 11 Enterprise license activation issue

Our organization recently purchased brand new Lenovo desktops and laptops that come with Windows 11 Pro edition through the factory image.

We image them all through SCCM using a custom Windows 11 enterprise (v22H2) image captured from a reference virtual machine. After image process is completed, Windows updates are performed to install the latest updates and then PCs rebooted. Afterwards, we observe that the edition changes from Enterprise to Pro.

We are utilizing the KMS license keys published on the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service webiste under our organization's account. We've discovered that all the KMS license keys for both Enterprise and Pro editions are actually the same which is quite odd. In our case, they are actually Pro licenses based on the result of the license activations. That may explain why the edition changed to Pro.

Unfortunately we can't manually activate the PCs to Windows 11 Enterprise unless we use the generic volume license keys (GLVK) instead.

Is it the recommendation to use the GLVK licenses instead going forward?

 

Windows 11 Home to Pro upgrade

Want to upgrade 11 Home to 11 Pro. Tried download, but apparently files transferred were for 11 Enterprise. This will not activate; error is "invalid digital license or product key". This is on a new Surface. How to proceed?

Can withdraw/delete this. The suggestion to downgrade - listed below - with a 'fake' windows 10 key works.

 

Free upgrade from Windows 11 Home to 11 Pro using 10 Pro retail license

My current computer has an activated Windows 10 Pro retail license. I'm planning to replace my current computer by buying a new computer that comes preinstalled with Windows 11 Home, and then I understand I can use my 10 Pro license to upgrade to 11 Pro for free.

What's the most straightforward way of accomplishing this? The obvious approach that comes to mind involves two steps:

1. Reinstall Windows 10 Pro on new computer and activate with my existing retail license.
   
2. Upgrade new computer to 11 Pro for free through the settings.
   

Is there a simpler way of doing this without having to reinstall Windows 10? For example, would it be possible to somehow "trade in" my Windows 10 Pro license for 11 Pro? I'm fairly new to Windows licensing and am just trying to understand what is possible/best practice, with minimal effort.
