Windows 10: Windows 11 processor compatibility

I have an ASUS PC with an i7-7500U 2.7GHZ, 2904MHz, 2 Core, 4 logical processors. According to the Windows 11 specs, this processor is not supported. WHY??It appears to have enough horsepower. What makes this process unsupported?

You do not need to reply to me. You can post in this thread to get the benefit of everybody's wisdom. Such as that of Bree who has also read the Windows 11 section of Windows Processor Requirements - MSDocs and has identified that your CPU is not listed there.

Windows 11 and my processor question

MS did allow only a few handful of 7th gen Intel CPUs for Win11 but other 7th gen Intel and AMD Zen 1 CPUs remain incompatible or unsupported

while you could clean install Win11 on a PC that does not have the recommended specs, you may not be able to receive updates for Win11

so install Win11 at your own risk
