I have an OEM Windows 11 Home system that uses a local account only I have not added my Microsoft account on that machine.In Windows 7, the key retrieved by product key finder applications was the generic key used by the OEM and would not be useful to activate in the event a clean reinstall of Windows 7 became necessary.What's the case for Windows 11? That is, what is the best way to prepare for the possibility that a clean reinstall will be necessary and the "restore to factory" partition has become damaged or otherwise unavailable?Should I create a user account with my Microsoft account "

I suggest you to Uninstall the license using the following steps.

• Press Windows key + X
• Click Command Prompt (Admin)
• At the command prompt, type: slmgr.vbs -upk
• Press Enter, this will uninstall the product key from the computer.

Further on, install Windows 8.1 activate the copy with the product key on the new machine. Then again upgrade the same to Windows 10 using Window Update or Media Creation Tool.
