  1. Windows 11 programs/apps which insist on being larger than half screen

Hello,I have been on Windows 11 for a while now and I'm not sure if this is also the case in Windows 10.I have noticed a few apps, for me specifically; Poly Lens for my old Plantronics headset and Sky Go despite appear to be trying to snap to one side, take up more space. It is like they have an overriding default width. Is this something that Microsoft are aware of, and if not, can you look to sort it please? You can see in the first two pictures below, that the programs overlapping the other half screen. The third picture shows what happens when you snap the misbehaving window first and Edge

  2. Programs wont open in half screen

I'm using Windows 11, and I love the snap feature that sets a program to half screen. I'm tired of having to set it to half screen every time I open it though, how do I set programs to open up in half screen?

In addition to DaveM121's suggestion to send feedback - please do as it helps improve Windows for all of us Windows 11 programs/apps which insist on being larger than half screen :)

After you have used snap to set the program to half the screen, use the mouse to grab the edge of the window and drag it just a tiny bit.

windows should then remember the size and position of the window next time you open the app.

Programs wont open in half screen

    Hi

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

There is currently no option, setting or even a known registry hack in Windows 11 to set applications to open in half screen snap mode.

The best option may be to open the Feedback Hub (Windows Key + F) and suggest to the developers there that they add this as a new function in a future update.
