Windows 10: Windows 11 prompting to search the store when trying to open programs

i have now tried with 2 different programs that should just be plug and play. When i try to open the program i just get "do you want to search for a app in the store" as if my newly installed windows is missing something to run a simple program. I have changed the settings from "only store" to everywhere from where i can download, i have activated that i am "developer" to try to fix it but i still cant run the programs.The last program is "Move Mouse" dowloaded from the developers GitHub since your store aint working to download it from.

• Open command prompt and type the commands below (Type it in Search or Press Windows Logo Key+X. Click on Command Prompt admin).

wsreset.exe

powershell

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

2. Close the Command Prompt window.

Windows Store

I suggest you to follow the below steps and then try to download the applications from the Windows store.

1) Open Command Prompt with administrative privileges.

2) Type following commands one by one:

• net stop wuauserv

• cd\windows

• rename SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.bck

• net start wuauserv

For Taskbar issue try to follow the below steps and check if it helps.



1) Type and Open Taskbar and start menu properties from the search box.

2) Make sure that you have unchecked the auto hide the taskbar.

whenever I try to search anything on windows 10 store the store will automatically close

• Did you make any changes prior to this issue?
• Do you get any error message?

• Type “Troubleshooting” in the search box and press Enter.
• Click on ‘View All’ on the top left pane.
• Click on “Windows Store Apps” from the list and follow the on-screen prompts for troubleshooting.
