Windows 11 RAM usage creeps up to 99% when using lightweight programs, then freezes

The freeze is a slow crawl of stuttering of the video and audio, then the screen just freezes in full, and I have to hard reset. The PC is only 2 years old, self-built.MSI MPG Z690 Carbon Wifii7 13700K32GB DDR5 RAMGeForce RTX 3800XMP is off, nothing is OCed, and I already performed System File Checker and Windows Memory Diagnostic. What else could I try? Should I just try buying new RAM?Here is a photo of Task Manager right before it happens. Thank you.

How do I stop my disk usage being at 99% or 100% on Windows 10?

How do I stop my disk usage being at 100% on Windows 10? Below is what I've tried

    • Changing Link Storage Technology in Intel Rapid Storage to be off
    • Restarting or Disabling Windows Search service
    • Restarting or Disabling Windows Superfetch or SysMain service
    • DISM and SFC scans
    • Checking for hard drive errors in CrystalDiskInfo
    • Running programs as administrator
    • Changing the security of backup programs and high disk usage programs to give my user all the permissions in the Properties
    • Looking at Task Manager to find the cause (the processes listed don't add up to 99% or 100%)

    I'm using Windows 10 20H2
Is there any other suggestions I can do?

  3. Unknown Constant RAM Usage

    Hi,

To explore more on RAM usage by processes and see in-depth I advise you to open the Resource monitor, please follow the below steps.

    Step 1 :

    Open Task Manager

    Step 2:

    Click on Performance

    Step 3:

At the bottom click on Open Resource Monitor

    Step 4:

Under Resource Monitor windows click on Memory

    Step 5:

Click on Working Set to list the top process utilizing the more RAM and then evaluate RAM usage.

High ram usage on startup/idle on gmaing pc issue.

I have this issue where I start up my pc just fine but noticed high ram usage. It’ll start around 50% and sometimes 60% or more. I never paid attention to it after I had an issue when I was playing destiny 2 about three weeks ago and my pc started stuttering real bad and I noticed my ram usage was 99%.
these are the steps I’ve tried out that sometimes help but usually reverts back to high usage.

    remove all startup apps.
remove programs I don’t longer use.
    reseat my ram sticks.
performed a memory diagnostic and found nothing.
    used CCleaner.
    update everything.
cleanboot and disabled all programs besides windows BUT there was an issue upon restart. It’ll restart fine but when it loads back, I cannot open any files or even turnoff the pc. I had to do it manually. Once I finally got it through safe mode, ram went backdown. I’ll game a few hours, get on the next day and boom. Same issue, high ram usage.
