Windows 10: Windows 11, recent Microsoft update installed OneDrive and moved file locations.!!!

Windows 11 update occurred yesterday morning.I fired up Outlook, all was good.I fired up Quickbooks, and it couldn't find my QB database!I realized OneDrive had been installed and my Documents file was now under OneDrive! So, the paths had all changed!I moved all the files from OneDrive to a new Documents Local file that I created, and then Outlook couldn't find its databases.I was able to relink one of my email accounts, but can't access link / delete the other email account. It displays in Outlook, but I can't do anything with it.This is unbelievable that a Microsoft update could wreak s

you get the idea. ( too lazy to put it in a for loop and test it.

or just open regedit and remove all the fileX from that key.

that's all off already dude lol, I'm really surprised there is no fix for the recent files list/MRU in the file menu of programs haha

I appreciate the help, MS really needs to implement a Group Policy or a string that can do that for all programs installed

 

C windows installer folder - Delete?

He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink
Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

Like:
First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
Then type this in command mode as admin
mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.
