Windows 10: Windows 11 requires me to login with my pin when it wakes from sleep but skips sign-in...

I have a dell latitude 7480 laptop and windows requires my pin to login whenever it goes to sleep but it doesn't even show sign-in options when I put it on afresh from a shut down, it just goes straight to the desktop without any login

Your PC might be set to Never when requiring to sign-in after it wakes from sleep. To enable password login after waking Windows 10 from sleep, follow the steps below:

• Click on Start (Windows icon).
• Go to Settings (gear icon).
• Select Accounts, go to SIgn-in options.
• Make sure When PC wakes up from sleep is selected instead of
  Never under Require sign-in.

Try to put your PC to sleep then wake it up to check if it will now prompt you to log in.

Windows 11 login requires PIN but resetting PIN doesn’t work

My computer it currently running windows 11. I usually sign in to my computer with touch ID, but for some reason it didn’t work yesterday and it’s now saying that my PIN is required. I don’t remember what my PIN is though, or if I even have a PIN set up. However, when I go to “I forgot my PIN” after singing in and verifying my identity and everything and confirming I’d like to reset my PIN it just says that “Something went wrong.” It says that they were unable to set up my PIN and I could skip this step and set it up later but it just brings me back to the login screen. I’ve even tried to make a new Microsoft account and it does the same thing. I’m completely locked out of my computer.

Thanks for the reply. I have the PIN enabled and as I stated, sometimes windows will default to asking for the PIN on the login screen but sometimes it will ask for the password instead. The issue is not that my PIN is disabled, even when this happens I can click sign in options and go back to entering my PIN but it would be nice if it just always asked for the PIN..

I've tried the steps above but under the 'Require sign-in ' section, the only drop down is to select when windows requires me to sign in after being away with the two options 'never' or 'When PC wakes up from sleep'.
