I just upgraded my windows from Windows10 to Windows11 and whenever I try to right-click on the desktop mainly it started showing "wibushellext64 fatal error wb6 - undocumented/internal 6" error.I installed Windows11 earlier also the same error showed then also so I reverted back to Windows10 thinking that there might be some bug in 11 version, but the error is persistent still after many months, so it may be my PC creating this trouble. Can you pl tell me how to resolve this? Thanks

    Hi Huy,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. I regret the inconvenience caused to you. Let me help you.

    Please share the details.

    • Have you made any changes in the settings prior to the issue?

    • Which location are you trying to create a new folder? Have you checked in a different location? What is the status?

As a work around, I suggest you to update the Windows Defender and run a complete system scan and check if it helps.

If the issue persists, I suggest you to check in Safe mode and see if the issue appears.

Perform a clean boot in safe mode and check if it resolves the issue.

Method 1: Start computer in safe mode and then perform clean boot.

Step 1: Start computer in safe mode

    • When you hit the power button in Windows 8.1 (through Charms Bar), hold down the
Shift key when clicking the Restart button.

    • The next screen will present you with three options. Click
      Troubleshoot.

    • Next, hit Advanced options followed by
Windows StartupSettings from the next screen.

Your PC will now be rebooted to enable the advanced parameters, which include Safe Mode as well. Once it restarts, you’ll get nine options whereby the following commands apply:

    • F4 for Safe Mode

    • F5 for Safe Mode with Networking

    • F6 for Safe Mode with Command Prompt

For more information you may refer to the article mentioned below.

Windows Startup Settings (including safe mode)

Step 2: Perform clean boot to avoid any third party software conflict.

To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Putting your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: Refer "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.
    Check if it helps.

If the issue persists, I suggest you to create a new local account and check if it resolves the issue.

Method 2: Create a Local Account

Create a local account and try log in to your system.

Check if it allows you to log in.

If you are able to log in. I suggest you to make it as MS Account and see if the issue persists or not.

Refer the below article created by Andre Da Costa to know
How to: create a Local Account in Windows 10.

I hope the issue will be resolved. If you have any further queries, please feel free to contact us again. We will be happy to assist you accordingly.

    Thank you.

    Fatal Error

I've been trying to format my system but right after it finishes formatting I get a Fatal Error during the Windows installation process. That Fatal Error is a Data Error (cyclic redundancy check). I know that it's because of my hard drives, but how do I fix this issue? I have 2 Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA II Hard Drives in RAID 0. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. *Smile WINDOWS 11 RIGHT CLICK PROBLEM- wibushellext64 fatal error wb6 - undocumented/internal 6 :)
