Windows 10: Windows 11 S Mode - how does it actually work?

There is very little information about the S mode functionality. I.e. how does it do application control? is it using WDAC or some other form of whitelisting? Can you add or modify WDAC policies in S mode?

Step 1:

I would suggest you to run System Maintenance Troubleshooter
and check if it helps:

• Press Windows + X key.　
• Select Control panel.
• In the search box, type Troubleshooter and then click
  Troubleshooting.
• Under System and Security,
• Click on System Maintenance and Click on Next button.
  

Step 2: I suggest you to start your system in safe mode and check if the issue persists. Follow the below link for steps:

IE 11 not working

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Internet Explorer. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Explorer.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel

• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the Internet Explorer performance troubleshooter
