Windows 10: windows 11 sample rate related noise issue

i have a Lenovo 13" laptop, core I5 with windows 11 installedso if i turn it on and plug in a usb device and it makes the sound to acknowledge its been plugged in i get a strange static pink noise id describe it as from my right speaker only, left is fine, this repeats everytime it picks up a new device on usb or a device is addedif i go into sound options and set the sample rate to something different from the four choices it doesnt get fixed by any choice, but seemingly selecting something once its been booted forces something to change and i then get good sound from both channels, i have

Sample rate sound card issues

Im looking for a internal card with dolby/dts encoding. I got the drivers from creative website dated june 24th 2019. I checked the speakers. I have logitech z906 on another system and have the same issue. Tried the z5500 on other system and no problems.
Ive tried every sampling rate on the list and still have the problem.

 

"Popping" noise in recordings - old problem but new to me

Opened the speaker properties and dropped the sample rate from 48000 (dvd quality) TO 44100 (cd) and it fixed the problem.

I did experiment with higher rates and all presented the noise.

Thanks to all who replied, the fix came from Microsoft who provided specific steps to access the sample rate and change it, as recommended here by CMArbres. A few of the suggestions went beyond my knowledge which is not surprising considering how technical and "niche" computer audio is.

I marked this solved as it is solved for me, now.

 

Sample Rate on Microphone

Please note that Windows cannot give your microphone something it does not already have. If your microphone has the ability to select sampling rates, you'll see a control for that on the microphone or in the software that came with the microphone. By itself,
changing a setting in Windows does not change your microphone's sampling rate.

If your microphone can select its sampling rate, keep in mind that higher sampling rates are more processor-intensive and result in larger files (when saved.)
