Windows 10: Windows 11 shows internet access and no issues troubleshooting, but no internet connection.

I have no idea what the problem is. I was just playing games last night, hit alt f4 to close the game and lost internet connection. Since then I’ve tried restarting the modem, restarting the computer, turning it off and going to work, coming back trying that again. Only significant programs I have going on I guess are chrome, nordvpn, malwarebytes and steam. Malwarebytes was spamming me with notifications when I got home today and turned it on blocking basically every program I had open it seemed, like steam and chrome and all which just open on startup. I went in the task manager and just clo

Try the following steps:

  Click "Search" and type "Troubleshooting" without quotes and hit enter.

I would suggest you to perform an Internet troubleshooter by following the steps below.

• Click on start and type ‘troubleshooting’ and press enter.
• Click on ‘View all’ on top left corner.
• Select ‘Internet Connections’ in the list and follow the prompts for troubleshooting.

Also, check if the issue persists by connecting to a different network.

Internet Connection Issue


I have been troubleshooting this issue for a week now - following suggested solutions for problems similar (although not identical) to mine, to no avail. I believe I have finally narrowed down what event is causing my internet connection to be unavailable.

When I log in to my Windows 10 desktop my internet connection is unavailable to everything. It does not matter whether I use Ethernet or wireless connection. If I start up the desktop and just leave it sitting at the sign in screen, everything is okay. The desktop shows it's connected. I can connect and use laptops, TV's, tablets, phones, etc. The first time the internet is accessed via the Windows 10 PC it will occasionally last5 minutes or so, but mostly drops out immediately.

As I said I have done most recommended suggestions I can find - e.g. changing modem/routers, updating adapter drivers, switching off firewalls, changing browsers, swapping cables, etc. etc. That many, I can't remember them all.

Can someone please offer help - I feel I am going around in circles now.
