  1. Windows 11 Shut Down Battery Drain

I recently purchased a refurbished Dell Inspiron 15 3520 i7-1255U running Windows 11.I noticed that the battery drains a surprising amount and the underside of the case remains fairly warm when the machine has been shut down. For example, it typically loses 50-80% of its charge if not used for 24 hours. This is a modern standby S0 machine with no option to revert to the S3 power model I've always had prior to this. I've tried the following to no avail:Clean re-install of Windows 11.Installation of Windows 10.Downgrade and re-upgrade of the BIOS.Disabling fast startup.Disabling battery

  2. Battery Drain after shutting down windows 10

    Hi Rajesh,

Thank you for bringing up your query on Microsoft Community.

Apologize for the difficulties that you're experiencing in Windows 10.

Please be assured that we will do our best to help you.

Battery drain may be caused by a number of reasons. Most of them are meant to be like that (Wake-on-lan capability, scheduled wake up tasks, hybrid sleep, etc.). Others are "bugs", in that they are not meant to use power when hibernating. When
trying to eliminate battery drain, ALL of the possible factors have to be adressed, otherwise drain may still be the case.

Let us try the following steps, and check if it helps.

Step 1: You can run the Power troubleshooter to adjust your computer's power settings.

The Power troubleshooter checks things like your computer's timeout settings, which determine how long the computer waits before turning off the monitor display or entering sleep mode. Adjusting these settings can help you conserve power and
    extend your computer's battery life.

    • Press Windows key + X key and Select Control Panel.
    • Select Troubleshooting.

    • Select View All on the top left corner.

    • Run Power troubleshooter.
Step 2: Uninstall Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, restart the computer and check.

    1. To un-install the default drivers, press Windows + R together to open the
    Run prompt.

    2. Type devmgmt.msc and press enter. This will open Device Manager.

    3. On Device Manager, browser to Batteries > Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery,
right-click on it and click Uninstall. After this restart the laptop and the battery charging should start.

Battery drains while on sleep mode.

even mine has a slow battery drain, using Win 8.1. Even when powered off, not in sleep or hibernate, but off. It still uses the battery to keep the clock going.
Turn off fast start, as suggested, hibernate over sleep as it uses less power, and if you aren't going to use it for several hours, shut it off.

  4. Windows 11 Shut Down Battery Drain

Windows 11 battery draining in sleep mode

    Hi

I have recently got this laptop from HP with windows 11

the laptop has a peculiar problem of battery drain on sleep mode. the laptop loses almost 20 percent battery in 8 hours of night and at times you cannot even boot the laptop because it has reached to reserve battery levels, and you need to search for power adapter.

searched online for help which recommended changing sleep to hibernation. did that as well but the outcome has no change.

the only solution that works is to shut down the laptop every time you don't use and that is not a solution if you want to resume your work.

please suggest how to stop this drain so that we have better battery management and life.
