    Windows 11 Shutdown button does nothing


    I have a new Windows 11 system that otherwise functions perfectly fine, but occasionally fails to shut down as follows:When I click Start > Shutdown, nothing happens. The user is not logged out, no error messages are given, no progress indicator appears. It is as if the button were not pressed at all. It makes no difference whether there are any running applications.If I log the user out first, it returns normally to the login screen. If I click the shutdown button on the login screen, it will switch to the user name against a blurred background and just sit there with a spinning progre
