  1. Windows 11 - Sign-in screen questions - Password Reveal Option missing and how to set...

Two questions about sign-in screen - 1. There is an eye icon to check what you typed is correct in Windows 10 to reveal password, so you can can check what you typed before hitting submit. Can others see this eye icon on the sign in screen? Is there a reveal password option for Windows 11? 2. Can one change the sign in screen time out period? If you don't sign-in straight away, the screen goes to sleep mode or something within seconds. Very annoying. I can change the screen saver time out fof period once logged in, but can't find how to extend time out period for sign-in screen.

    :)

    Hi,

About your concern with typing the password after being idle, it is actually recommended to activate for security reasons.

If you wish to disable it, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Go to Settings.
    • Click on Accounts.
    • Click on Sign in options.
    • On the right side, you will see required sign in.
    • Change it to Never.

Let us know how it goes.

No Sign-In After Sleep Windows 11 [SOLVED]

A similar thread from last year was locked, so I thought I would post my solution here.

I wanted Windows 11 to bypass any password, lock-screen, or sign-in, both at startup and when waking from sleep. "Require Sign-In" was missing from sign-in options, so I had to trick Windows. I am running Windows 11 Pro with a local account. Here is what I did to fix the issues:

    No Sign-In After Sleep:

    1. From start menu, got to "Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options," and click "Password."

    2. Click "Add" and create a password. Note that once this step is complete, the hidden "Require Sign-in" option is revealed. You may have to close and re-open "Settings" if it doesn't appear immediately.

    3. From same menu, click "Require Sign-in" and click "Never."

    4. Go back to "Password" and select "Change." Do not enter a new password. Leave all spaces blank and confirm your blank password. This is equivalent to having no password. You may notice that the "Require Sign-in" option is hidden again. But do not fret, Windows remembers your "Never require sign-in" preference! Now windows should open from sleep and take you straight to where you left off with no interruption. This worked for me.

    No Lock-Screen at Startup:

For this, I turned off the lock-screen by using the group policy editor. There is sufficient information available on this topic, so I will not write the steps here. Once these steps are followed, Windows boots straight to the desktop with no lock-screen interruption.
