Windows 10: Windows 11 + sometimes extra keyboard layouts appear in language selection toolbar

In the language selection taskbar bottom right many times extra keyboard layouts appear, slowing down the language shifting process when typing.As an example, as you can see in the screenshots, the "English United Kingdom layout is shown in the toolbar, even though it should not - based on the related settings defined.Please note that this does not happen all the time but it happens most of the times. Sometimes I have 5 extra keyboard layouts !!!. The only working solution that I have for now is to restart the PC until no extra keyboard layouts appear.Is there something else I could do?

The extra keyboard layout keep adding to my language bar (with Pics)

The updated Windows 10 may have detected your language, the reason why it automatically gave you the other Thai US keyboard. To correct this issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Click on the Start Menu, type in region and language settings and select it.
• Under Languages, select Thai Kedmanee keyboard and click Remove.
• Lastly, add it back by clicking Add a language.

After these steps, your keyboard layout will permanently stay with Thai Kedmanee keyboard.

This suggests to me that you are using the wrong "keyboard language" for your keyboard, and that therefore you first step would be to determine exactly what language keyboard you have. Possibly have a look at Windows Keyboard Layouts - Globalization | Microsoft Docs.

(The age of any laptop capable of running Windows 10 at all should not be a problem as regards keyboard layout)

 

Custom Keyboard Layouts in Windows 11

A wonderful day everyone,

Previously I have used the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator to create custom keyboard layouts, however not only is Windows 11 not listed as a supported operating system, but I cannot use the installed keyboards as they get shrugged off as "Unavailable input method" and are also unselectable as they break the taskbar language button in strange ways.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how one can create a functioning keyboard layout for Windows 11? It'd be much appreciated.
