    Windows 11 - Sound slider/media control panel in the task bar is unresponsive every boot...


    Hey hey people,I am slowly but surely losing my mind.Since I upgraded to Windows 11 I am plagued by this infuriating bug where the aforementioned sound slider thingy in the task bar is completely unresponsive.I can call it up from the task bar with a mouse click, but the UI elements in this container are completely unresponsive. Neither the volume slider, nor the three buttons above it nor the media control buttons can be clicked. The whole thing appears like a still image, even when I hover the cursor above the elements, they do not react. The only way of fixing this is a reboot, but I am not

    Unresponsive windows 11 task bar icons.

    I have a windows 11 PC.

    The problem is that when I installed the windows 11 upgrade. My task bar icons are unresponsive to touch.

    Please help.

    Windows Task Bar unresponsive

    This garbage upgrade has completely rendered my task bar useless, making it difficult to do anything.

    After logging into windows after boot (or plenty or reboots as well as forced shut downs) my task bar, along with my desktop shortcuts, continuously load then flash and reload. I can't access my start menu, wifi, time, battery, or any shortcuts pinned. Once
    in a while it will stop flashing after an hour or so and let the start menu work but the rest of the task bar is unresponsive/blank except the new search feature. If I am able to open any windows features, such as control panel, they occasionally close out
    when the screen flashes as the task bar reloads.

    I've noticed once that this problem hasn't occurred if I do not connect to wifi automatically, but once connected similar issues arise. I also have opened task manager to try to relieve these issues at points and notice my memory runs at 90-100% as well
    as my CPU. I have the qualifying specs to run windows 10 so that should not be an issue.

    Shortcut to sound control panel?

    Hi Riff,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    Share the information to assist you better.

    Are you referring to sound controls?

    If yes, you can see the controls at the right bottom corner in the task bar.

    There is no such shortcut for sound control panel. Just type sound in the search bar to access sound settings.
