Windows 10: Windows 11 : start, search and all settings gone

Windows 11 upgrade : start button doesn't work, Search feature doesn't work, opening settings through Windows -I doesn't work. Rightclick on Windows button and selecting Settings : nothing happens. I ran a command prompt as administrator, scanned for issues using the methods advised here healthcheck etc, rebooted 10 times, no luck. Also, can't find ms settings, when I look for them it tells me ms-settings: package could not be registered. Impossible to locate many apps, or for example the HP printer settings in order to scan something. I tried reinstalling W11, it tells me it is already inst

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.

 

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

Method 1

If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state or were irrecoverable, then I suggest you to try the following steps to deploy the DISM command lines:

  Press Windows key + X.

  Click command prompt (Run as administrator).
  
• 
  In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type the following commands. Press Enter key after each command:
  
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
  
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
  
  Important: When you run this command, DISM uses Windows Update to provide the files that are required to fix corruptions.

  To close the Administrator: Command prompt window, type Exit, and then press Enter.

Method 2

Lets try to narrow down the issue, if the issue is at a specific user level.
I suggest you to check if the same issue occur when logged in through a different Local Administrator user account.



Follow the steps mentioned below:

• Assuming that you are already logged on to your user account in Windows 10, click the Start button.
• From the Start menu, click your name from the top of the left pane.
• From the displayed options click Sign out.
• From the login screen, click to the different user account you want to switch to.
