Windows 10: Windows 11 stuck on screensaver

Hello,Since a few months I have been having issues with my laptop. Often, when the laptop shuts to the screensaver it won't allow me to get to the screen to enter my password. This is fixed by using control+alt+delete and escape, then I have to restart Windows explorer, because otherwise I can't open any programs. I tried changing power settings and I also run sfc /scannow to see if that fixes the issue to no avail. Drivers and Windows are also up-to-date. Anyone have some ideas about what I could do to fix this issue? The laptop is a Lenovo Legion 5 17ACH6H.

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if that helps.

• Go to the folder C:\Windows\System32 and sort by file type.
• Look for the screensaver file type (.scr).
• Find the file scrnsave.scr(you can choose any of the screensavers).
• Right click and select send to>desktop (create shortcut). The shortcut on my attachment, but when i click on it my screen goes off and on and nothing else.

Screensaver is so dated I had to really dig to find those fixes, so to have them completely ignored is very discouraging. Can you go back to the top of the list and work through them now?

 

screensaver versus no screensaver

On Windows XP, the screensaver was running even when the montior was off which is a waste. Ever since I discovered that, I simply turn screensavers off and have the monitor power down in 5 minutes or less.
