    Windows 11 system restore multiply fails


    I have at various time attempted to use system restore only to have it take an hour and then restart with failure unable to access some file. This is what the event viewer error looks like:

    Failed to complete System Restore

    Hello Passegua,

    The error code 0x80070005 may indicate a few things that are causing System Restore Failure. It could be corrupted system files, conflict with other programs such as Anti-virus protection, and etc. As a first troubleshooting step, we suggest
    that you perform System restore in Safe Mode. Kindly refer to this link for more information and steps.

    Another step that I can suggest is Clean Boot, if the above step fails.

    Windows XP PRO error after restore

    System restore is handy when it works like it did for me 2 days ago saving the need to reinstall all of my software as well as windows, id suggest using norton Ghost 12 for an excellent system restore feature.
