Hi,So my laptop manufacturer is ASUS and it is loaded with integrated Intel UHD graphics as well as NVDIA dedicated graphics. I always like to keep my driver's up to date so that everything runs smoothly. Recently I thought of updating my Intel graphics driver of my new laptop and I downloaded Intel® Driver & Support Assistant software as I was using it earlier as well with my old laptop to update the integrated graphics driver.I installed the program and I saw that an updated driver version is available, wherein windows update was not reflecting any updated driver and neither the manufact

  2. Windows 11 update keeps reverting to older Intel graphics driver

    Hi,

I'm running WIndows 11 Insider Preview on my Asus laptop and I update to newer builds as soon as they are released. But I have a major issue that is annoying me very much since a few months.

I have an Intel integrated GPU in my laptop, and it came with driver version 27.xx. This driver version has a well known bug that causes memory leak in DWM and shoots memory usage to more than 1 GB. It is fixed in the driver version 30.xx released a few months ago and I have installed it manually using Intel's official installer.

But as soon as Windows installed a new Insider Preview build or a feature update and reboots, the driver is reverted back to 27.xx (as shown in task manager and device manager). There in no option to "roll back" the driver to 30.xx in device manager and I have to reinstall 30.xx driver manually every single time.

Windows Update never shows this intel driver in the list of its updates, so there is no way to block or hide it manually either. Even in windows update history, I don't see intel 27.xx driver being listed.

    Things I have tried:

System Properties -> Hardware -> Device Installation Settings -> Selected "No". Didn't fix my issue.

Added a registry key "ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate" for blocking driver updates. Didn't fix it either.

Please provide a permanent solution or atleast a workaround to this issue, so that I can continue using windows updates peacefully rather than having to reinstall intel driver manually everytime.

    Thanks in advance
