Windows 10: Windows 11 takes a long time to shut down and reboot/restart

Hi, So my pc has been behaving very weird lately. I was on my pc yesterday and went ahead to open NVIDIA Control Panel. It didn't open even after numerous tries. So I decided to restart my pc if it fixes the issue. Well, it took forever in the restart process, so I force shut down it with my power button in the middle of the process. And then my pc booted as usual, even NVIDIA control panel opened successfully. But when I was done with my work, and went ahead to shut it down, it was just stuck on the loading process. And it has been like that till now. I have tried numerous thing like, checkin

Random shut down and restart??

Computer: Intel (R) Pentium (R) Dual cpu
E220@2.406hz
2.42 GHZ, 2.00 GB of RAM
Windows xp

Ever since I replaced the fan (with heat sink) the computer has randomly shut down and then restarted, at first during streaming, and now, will shut down and restart anytime. I tried to replace the graphics card to no avail. *Confused *Mad

One suggestion was to replace the RAM.

Any suggestions on how to repair my computer?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Laptop takes too long time to reboot to desktop on Windows 10

This issue might have occurred due to incorrect settings to startup the device. Let us try the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to check if
Fast Startup option on your device is enabled.

Fast startup is a new feature in Windows to help your PC start up faster after shutting down. When turned on, Windows does this by using a hybrid shutdown (a partial hibernate) method that saves only the kernel session and device drivers (system
information) to hibernate (hiberfil.sys) file on disk instead of closing it when you shut down your PC.

Steps:

• Press Windows +
  X key and click Control Panel.
• Click on Power options.
• Click on Choose what the power buttons do.
• Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable. If it prompts to click on yes, then click
  Yes.
• Make sure Turn on fast startup (Recommended)
  option is Enabled/ check marked under shutdown settings.
• If not, check mark it and click Save changes
  to configure the settings.

Step 2: Run the Power Troubleshooter


Power troubleshooter find and fix problems with your computer's power settings to conserve power and extent battery life

  Type Troubleshooting in the
  Search bar on the desktop and press Enter.

  In the Troubleshooting window, click on
