Windows 10: Windows 11 Task View and Task Switching: Window Previews Disappear Intermittently

Since upgrading from Windows 10 to 11, I've encountered an issue where window previews disappear when switching between tasks. This occurs in both the task view and the task switching screen, although not consistently. It seems to happen intermittently, especially when returning to the desktop. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to consistently reproduce the problem.I've attached a screenshot displaying the issue, with privacy masks applied. You can observe that the previews have either blanked out or turned black in dark mode.This problem never occurred on Windows 10 using the same machine. I

Task to auto update windows defender definitions disappears

My mom has a new laptop with windows 8.1, we always set the windows updates to manual.
On our other windows 8.1 computers I have created a task for auto updating windows defender definitions, which works fine for us.

This is how I created this task:

"Click on "Create Task", name it what you like (mine is Daily Signature Update), set the trigger as the time you want it to run every day.

For Action browse to Program Files\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe and select it. In "Add arguments" add -SignatureUpdate -MMPC"

But somehow this task disappears once it has run on my mom's laptop.
I'm logged in as admin and then I also tried it with running the task scheduler as admin, the task just disappears every day for some reason, while it works fine on our other windows 8.1 computers.

Anyone an idea why this task disappears every time?

Task bar and Task View not switching programs/apps properly in Windows 10

When I try to switch apps by clicking an icon on the task bar, it opens, but doesn't come up on the screen. I have to minimize the existing app that's on the screen to see the new app. Also, when I have several windows in one app, such as several different
folders in File Explorer, when I move the cursor up to the little previews, that view shows on the screen, but the previews all disappear. I can move the cursor left or right and the screen changes as appropriate, but I'm doing this blind, without seeing the
previews. And when I click to choose a preview, that view does NOT stay on the screen; again, I have to minimize the existing app. Task View has a similar problem. If I have just switched on the laptop, sometimes it works properly for a while, then the problem
reappears. I never had this issue with Windows 8.1. I have looked for a setting that says 'Immediately switch to an app when selected' or similar, but can't find one. Can someone help me please, it's driving me mad! Cheers, Dave

 

Task View hover on Virtual desktops no longer previews the desktop

After recent upgrade, when I hover over the virtual desktop, it no longer shows the desktop preview. Still shows the thumbnail but not the full preview. This was critical to my workflow, how do I re-enable this.

Steps:

Hover over the task view icon on the task bar. Thumbnails show for all the virtual desktops.

Hover over any Virtual desktop thumbnail, the label shows but not the full preview does not.

Expected the full preview of the desktop to show as in previous versions of Windows 11.
