Windows 10: Windows 11 Taskbar App icons not working after sleep

To reproduce: Windows L to lock Wait for screen to blank Windows L Login Behavior: Taskbar visible with tray icons functioningOpen apps work. But: App icons visible but do not respond to click, right click or hover, same for start icon, RHS volume, date, power, language Windows key does not open start menu but does work with key combos i.e., Win+RRight click desktop shows menu: View, Sort by etc. but menu items do not respond to clicks. This happens every time it awakes from sleep mode - sleep mode not working. I have reset Power options and rolled back and used Clean Boot. Nothing is

I appreciate your interest in Windows 11. I understand that Taskbar icons are not working after upgrading to Windows 11. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.



However, please let us know:

1. What happens when you click on an icon on the Taskbar?
   
2. Do you receive any error message/code?
   
3. Does this issue occur with all the icons?
   

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try re-registering the taskbar and see if that works. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Press Windows + X keys together and click on Windows PowerShell (Admin)
   
2. Now type in the following command and hit Enter: Get-AppXPackage -User ([System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity]::GetCurrent().Name) *ShellExperienceHost* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
   
3. Restart the PC once the command is complete.
   

If the issue persists, you can try creating a new user account and then see if you are able to access the icons on the Taskbar.

Windows 11 taskbar icons not working

I went back to windows 10,

1. Icons for apps work perfectly fine, but icons like start, notification, wifi, volume, battery etc doesn't work (keyboard icon works)
   
2. I don't get any error codes or messages
   
3. No, as I told the app icon work but everything else on the taskbar doesn't
   

I guess I will wait till the official launch of windows 11. I installed it on my daily machine
