Using the "automatically hide the Taskbar" function. However, when File Explorer is open, the Taskbar will not re-appear by passing the mouse cursor over the bottom edge of the screen. How can I correct this?

  2. Weird Win 11 taskbar behavior/bug?

So I'm working on a clean Windows 11 install, and ran into a weird taskbar behavior when rearranging icons. Moving icons (not matter what icon it is) far across to the other side (or maybe past a large number of icons) causes the taskbar to restart and move the icon back to the original spot.

It also causes a pause with other things like my keyboard, but the OS is still moving along and responsive with my mouse. But ya, that's happening and not sure how to fix this, as I'm trying to organize my icons on my taskbar into groups.

I've recorded the behavior in this attached gif.

    1. I'm moving the MAIL app icon to the left
    2. When I let go, the taskbar freezes and it restores after a few seconds (as well as the background image as you'll see in the GIF)
    3. Then moving to the right, same behavior, but after dropping the icon moving to the right, the icon doesn't stay in its new place, but it moves back to its previous location with the same freeze/restore behavior.

      Please advise

    TaskBar Behavior

    Win 11 OS Build 22000.613.

But when will MS finally fix the TaskBar Behavior bug?

I have the "Automatically hide the TaskBar" mode set, but from time to time the TaskBar stops hiding. No manipulations in Settings - Personalization - TaskBar help in solving the problem. The only thing that helps is restart Explorer. This disgrace has been going on since Win 10 and the problem has not yet been resolved.

Just don't tell me about sfc /scannow and Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth - the integrity of the system files is not broken.

    Windows 11 Taskbar Behavior Problem

Windows 11 taskbar icons not working

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I appreciate your interest in Windows 11. I understand that Taskbar icons are not working after upgrading to Windows 11. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

    However, please let us know:

    1. What happens when you click on an icon on the Taskbar?
    2. Do you receive any error message/code?
    3. Does this issue occur with all the icons?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try re-registering the taskbar and see if that works. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below.

    1. Press Windows + X keys together and click on Windows PowerShell (Admin)
    2. Now type in the following command and hit Enter: Get-AppXPackage -User ([System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity]::GetCurrent().Name) *ShellExperienceHost* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
    3. Restart the PC once the command is complete.

If the issue persists, you can try creating a new user account and then see if you are able to access the icons on the Taskbar.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
