Windows 10: Windows 11 taskbar not showing unless a program is running

Fresh Windows 11 upgrade from 10 here. I noticed the clock, date, wireless icon etc do not show unless at least 1 program I've installed is running. So I usually make Discord initialize on startup just so I can see that stuff. Is this by design or a bug/glitch?

Hidden Taskbar not showing when a program is maximized (Windows 11 21H2)

I see the same issue as Daniel, but I have only one monitor (laptop). When programs are minimized, the taskbar shows up when I reach the bottom of my screen. When the program windows are maximized, the taskbar won't show up. Even when the program window is not in full screen, the taskbar will show but it is behind the window until I click on it. I have checked all the taskbar settings and have an autohide option on

I also noticed that the ALT+TAB combo doesn't switch between the programs most of the time and even if I get the taskbar to shop up, clicking on a specified program will not switch to it. I am using WIndows 11.

 

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

Remove (open) programs from taskbar

I'd just get a program called Ultramon. It puts a second taskbar on the second monitor, so if you have something up and running on the second monitor at all times it is displayed on that taskbar. It doesn't do exactly what you want, but it does solve the problem of wasted taskbar space.
