Windows 10: windows 11 taskbar not working, settings access denied, file explorer blank... nothing works :

i recently updated windows 11 after everything working absolutely fine, and suddenly nothing works... i cant open settings using the shortcut, it opens quickly and immediately closes. when i open it with cmd it says "Access is denied." i also cant get the win+x menu open, the shortcut just doesnt do anything.as well as this, the taskbar is empty and the start/ windows button menu thing wont open. the only way i can open anything is by using the run shortcut, and even then it only sometimes works depending on what im opening.finally from what i can tell, file explorer seems to open fine, bu

• Click the Start Menu.
• Right-click File Explorer.
• Choose Pin to taskbar.

Get your work done faster with Quick access


The relationship between Quick Access and File Explorer on the Taskbar needs to be broken.

If I pin items to either they show up in both, If I unpin from either, both pins are removed.

The pinned list in the Taskbar File Explorer is superior in that it lists more pins (Quick Access only shows 8 pins on this machine, while the Taskbar File Explorer show all 11).

The pinned list in Quick Access is superior in that you can organize the list (you used to be able to do this in the Taskbar pinned list - but not as of 10.0.130)

I prefer the Taskbar pinned list and hope MS returns the full functionality to the pinned list (organizing in a preferred order). Feedback has been sent.

 

Internet Explorer 11 not working on Windows 10

• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the Internet Explorer performance troubleshooter
