Windows 10: Windows 11 taskbar preview not working properly

The taskbar preview is not working as it should when hovering over an element in the task bar. This is better explained with pictures. 1. Behavior of the taskbar preview when there's an active window where the preview should be. 2. Behavior of the taskbar preview after clicking on the taskbar when there's an inactive window where the preview should be. Seems to work like it should. 3. Behavior of the taskbar preview when there's an active maximized to screen size window where the preview should be. 4. Windows 11 taskbar icons not working

I appreciate your interest in Windows 11. I understand that Taskbar icons are not working after upgrading to Windows 11. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.



However, please let us know:

1. What happens when you click on an icon on the Taskbar?
   
2. Do you receive any error message/code?
   
3. Does this issue occur with all the icons?
   

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try re-registering the taskbar and see if that works. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Press Windows + X keys together and click on Windows PowerShell (Admin)
   
2. Now type in the following command and hit Enter: Get-AppXPackage -User ([System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity]::GetCurrent().Name) *ShellExperienceHost* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
   
3. Restart the PC once the command is complete.
   

If the issue persists, you can try creating a new user account and then see if you are able to access the icons on the Taskbar.

Taskbar not working properly on Windows 10

For further clarity on the issue, please respond to the questions below.

1. Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently?
   
2. Are you aware of any changes made to the PC prior to which you weren’t facing this issue?
   
3. When you say, “Toolbar”, are you referring to the taskbar on Windows 10?

Assuming that you are referring to Taskbar on Windows 10, I would suggest you to try creating a new user account, as you have already tried using the PowerShell commands. Refer the article

Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10 and see if the Taskbar is working fine.

Windows 11 taskbar icons not working

The same issue I am facing is " Not working ICons including Time and notification view "

today only I install Win11
