Windows 10: Windows 11 two accounts sign in issue.

Hello,I have a windows 11 laptop on which I use 2 account one for work and one personal. My issue is that whenever I open my laptop it seems to default to the work account and I alwasy have to manually sign out and switch to my personal account when I want to. This also affects windows hello for sign in because I need to use my pin whenever I swap accounts so its an annoying process. I have read that windows 11 should default to whichever account you were using last but this does not seem to be the case for me it alwasy goes to the work account even if I am currently signed into my personal ac

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown

 

sign into microsoft account glitch

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

• Is this the only account on the computer?
• Was this account upgraded from previous version of Windows?

It looks like you are using a local account. I suggest you follow these steps:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Microsoft account instead.
• Enter your Local account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the new Microsoft account and click OK.

Sign in without p/w issue

Did a clean install of Windows 10 and updated it to the version shown.
Trying to eliminate the need for p/w at sign in, I ran netplwiz as I have always done.

Top USER ACCOUNTS is from the Install I've been upgrading for a long time
Bottom USER ACCOUNTS is from today's clean install on another machine

There is no:
"Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" to uncheck
in the clean install
I have never seen this before and can't by pass the sign in p/w step

Any suggestions greatly appreciated
