Windows 10: Windows 11 update killed my Dell laptop.

Jan 15, 2023. Windows 11 update killed my Dell laptop. The auto update kept my laptop on and the fan had been running continuously even after I logged as a normally do and I didn't realize anything was wrong until the following morning, when I felt my Dell laptop was hot to the touch. Well the fan is running non stop now. my left hand shift and ctrl keys no longer work and I can't log off as it brings me back to the Windows screen. I figured out how to turn it off finally. I got this Dell 7500 in Aug 2021. And now it is nearly junk. I AM VERY UPSET! Something bad happens EVERY TIME th

I want to disable touchpad on Dell laptop


Hello everyone,
My laptop's touchpad works and I don't want it to, because I prefer a mouse. It's a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series on windows 10 OS.

What I have tried that hasn't worked:

• start<settings<devices<mouse & touchpad<additional mouse options. This opens a window called Mouse Options which has 5 tabs up top, none of which involve the touchpad. The Hardware tab shows 2 devices: the mouse itself, and the USB. No touchpad there.
• windows key+x<mobility center. No touchpad to be found.
• various function keys. No options for touchpad on/off.
• device manager<mice and other pointing devices. Again, only the mouse and usb show up. It appears the touchpad is working without a driver, which is a little spooky.

Any other suggestions? I could try downloading a third party driver, but that seems like a step in the wrong direction.

Windows 11 Dell laptop

Using the Print Screen Key in Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows 8

• To capture the entire screen:
  Press the Windows logo key + PrntScrn key together.
  On tablets, press the Windows logo button + the volume down button together. (The screenshot is saved in the Screenshots folder in the Pictures folder.)
  

• To capture all active windows:
  Press the PrntScrn key.
  

• To capture a single active window:
  Tap or click on the window you want to capture.
  Press the Alt + PrntScrn keys together.
  

Fine but Pictures > Screen Shots does not exit on either of my two DEll Windows 11 laptops; where else could screen shots be stored?

 

Dell laptop not sleeping - what is DHCPv6ReSolicit activator?

I am having problems with my Dell laptop not sleeping. It is running Windows 11 22000.466. I ran SleepStudy a few times recently and a top offender is DHCPv6ReSolicit. I tried googling this term and it brings back near zero results. Any suggestions where to go from here?

Of course I have tried all of the standard steps:

• Run Windows Update
  
• Check for updates from Dell
  
• Run the Windows Power Troubleshooter
  

I would be happy to share more information, just let me know what else would be helpful.
