Windows 10: Windows 11 Update of Intel driver 22.1070.0.1

On my new ASUS laptop with Windows 11, Windows Update, almost daily, tries to update Intel driver 22.1070.0.1 even though I always get a "successfully installed" message in Update History. I believe this driver addresses my PCs WiFi as I believe this is is the only Intel component installed in it. Why is this happening?

Intel Updates Core 2 Quad Q9550 to E-0 Stepping

We continue our Monday news list with another Intel story that brings to our attention information concerning the company and more specificly its 2.83GHz Core 2 Quad Q9550 chips that will move from the current C-1 to the newer E-0 stepping. The updated chips will start selling on August 22nd, featuring the following changes:

• New SSpec and MM numbers for the converting products
• CPUID will change from 0x10677 to 0x1067A
• Package change to Halide free package

Apart from that, the new stepping CPUs will not include any other changes. Of course, like most new stepping parts a BIOS update will be needed.

Startup error on discontinued Intel driver

Hi David,

Windows 10 update remove the Intel WiDi driver due to compatibility issue. We suggest uninstalling the Intel WiDi driver from Control Panel to avoid it from showing up every time you start your computer. To do this, kindly follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X on your keyboard.
• Select Control Panel.
• Click Programs.
• Choose Programs and Features.
• Click Intel (R) WiDi Driver and hit Uninstall.
• Restart your computer.
