Windows 10: Windows 11 upgrade to 24H2 failure, search engine recommendations do not work

Windows update is downloading and installing bit it never makes it to 24H2 I have used Rufus multiple times, it goes through the stages and returns to the desktop with an error window showing the installation has failed.This computer as originally on Windows 7, upgraded to Windows 10 purchased and then upgraded with the free Windows 11 offered by Microsoft years back.
