Windows 11 Upgrades - Compatibility Issues

Hi I have around 40 PCs running windows 10 and they have failed the check to upgrade to Windows 11. Failed on CPU and TPM.I have seen some reg edits to bypass the checks and Windows 11 will install. I just wanted to ask peoples opinions on doing this? Will the PCs work for now With possible issues but going forward if feature updates are released, will i run into the same issue again with the compatibility issues? So what i am trying to work out, is if there is a stable work around? or if i need to go to the MD and say we need to replace all PCs!!! Before Oct 2025Any advise would be appreci

    :)

  2. Windows 11 upgrade compatibility.

    Hello, how are you?

My name is Paloma B., I am very happy to be able to try to help you in the best possible way.

This is an open community, whenever you need you can share the problem so that possible repairs are suggested.

Unfortunately MS released the list as official, and will not have updates to include non-compatible processors.

In addition to UEFI, TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, to support Windows 11 the Processor must have a feature called VBS or Windows Memory Integrity, but those that are not on the list do not support this.

That's why MS decided not to include these processors in the list, as it can generate a lot of performance problems.

It is even possible to install Windows 11 manually, but it is not recommended as it is not worth it.

Anyway, Windows 10 will be compatible until 2025, the recommendation is to keep it, if you keep using this processor.

If for some reason you upgrade your processor to a newer and more compatible model, then yes, it is recommended that you upgrade to Windows 11.

Upgrades needed to be compatible for Win 11

As you know, only PCs meeting certain hardware requirements can be upgraded routinely to Win 11. Most PCs can actually run it- and people have installed Win 11 on 'incompatible' PCs- see below. There are two tools to check compatibility that can identify issues- given below. How to check if your PC will get Windows 11 update | TechRadar - try running the app listed there. Not sure if your PC is compatible with Windows 11? Here's how to check - CNET - gives another tool and a list of requirements. The two tools are conveniently listed here: I thought my computer has unsupported CPU for Windows 11 installation? - post #6 Note: which generation of CPU you have is key to whether you will be able to upgrade routinely or not. Even if you can't fully meet Win 11 hardware specs (imposed by the installer rather than the O/S itself in some respects) there are work arounds to effect Win 11 installation. Example: I thought my computer has unsupported CPU for Windows 11 installation?

Windows 11 Upgrades - Compatibility Issues

3DMark 11 v1.0.4 Released, Now Fully Compatible with Windows 8

Futuremark updated 3DMark 11 to version 1.0.4, which makes the benchmark fully compatible with Windows 8. The update also addresses other compatibility issues and a few uncommon bugs. Benchmark scores are not affected and scores from this new version can be compared with scores from the previous version 3DMark 11 v1.0.3.

    DOWNLOAD: 3DMark 11 v1.0.4
    Improvements:
    • Keyboard focus is no longer checked during the demo or when running the benchmark in a loop. Note that if the display switches to the desktop due to a popup window during the benchmark, the run will still be aborted as the display mode is no longer the same.
    • 3DMark 11 now remembers the last custom resolution used.
    • GPU count detection for multi-GPU systems is now correct even when SystemInfo is explicitly disabled.
    • 3DMark 11 will now prevent Windows from entering Sleep during the test.
    • The license key is now reset when the benchmark is reinstalled, allowing removal of invalid keys.
    Compatibility:
    • SystemInfo updated to version 4.15 for full Windows 8 compatibility.
    • Updated DirectX redistributable.
    • Now using static Visual C++ 2010 runtime libraries to fix rare installation issues on some systems.
    • Removed dependency on EvaDotNet.dll and EvaDotNet.DirectX.dll for GPU enumeration to fix compatibility issues with some systems.
    Bug Fixes:
    • Fixed display initialization code that caused "SetFullscreenState failed: DXGI_ERROR_NOT_CURRENTLY_AVAILABLE" errors on some systems.
    • Fixed several memory and texture leaks, improving stability during very long looping runs.
    • The HUD timer no longer rolls over if a single test takes more than ten minutes. (Yes, this could happen during the Combined Test on some low end DirectX 11 cards.)
    Professional Edition Only:
    • Fixed submitting saved files to 3dmark.com from the command line.
    • Image Quality Tool no longer gives a cryptic error if the output directory does not exist.
