So, I was trying to change the name of a file on my desktop and a pop-up came up, and somehow the name of the user folder on my desktop ended up changing instead you usually do not have the perms to rename it afaik. I tried changing it back, restarting my pc, and all that to no avail. Deleting the file and linking it to the user folder in C drive seemed to fix the issue but for some reason, windows explorer still refers to it with the name of the folder I deleted?????? Even after restarting windows explorer from the task manager. I have no idea what to do and to be completely honest, I am ve

  2. Windows 11 Media Player - Sort Music by Folders unavailable but is available for video library?

Hi, and thanks for reaching out. My name is Saeid. I'll be happy to help you out today. You can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulty with the Windows 11 Media Player.

To sort your music library by folders in the Media Player, you can follow these steps:

    1-Open Windows Media Player.

2-Click on the "Music" tab to access your music library.

3-Click on the "Library" button in the top-left corner of the Media Player window.

4-Select "Manage libraries" from the drop-down menu.

5-Click on "Music" in the list of library locations.

    6-Click the "Modify" button.

7-Check the box next to "Add folders to library".

    8-Click the "OK" button.

9-Browse to the folder you want to add and select it.

10-Repeat steps 7-9 for any additional folders you want to add.

11-Click the "OK" button to close the "Music Library Locations" window.

12-Click the "Folders" button in the top-right corner of the Media Player window.

13-Select "By folder" from the drop-down menu.

Once you have completed these steps, your music library should be sorted by folders.

As for the error you're receiving when trying to play videos, error code 0x800700EA typically indicates that there is an issue with the video driver or graphics card. I would suggest checking for updates for your video driver or graphics card and installing any available updates.

I hope this helps! If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask.

Windows 11 user folder seems to have acquired some sort of a nickname.

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

    No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

    any more suggestions
